RATE STRUCTURE
The rates listed below do not include the monthly line charge for the physical
connection to your site. Ameritech will bill you directly.
Analog access is through our hunt group of 28.8/33.6-capable modems,
supporting scripted, PAP, and CHAP authentication for automatic login.
You can sign up for PPP with the standard
account application
The primary difference between 'dynamic' PPP and 'dedicated' PPP is that
the dedicated account provides a single unchanging address for your home
computer, with no time limits on connect time or calls.
ISDN
- 64K $90/month or 128K $170/month
ISDN access
is via dedicated ISDN routers supporting PAP and CHAP authentication.
Your ISDN equipment should support synchronous or V.120 PPP at 64Kbps,
or 128Kbps with MultiLink PPP.
Please see the ISDN Information for details.
- Please Note
- Most personal computers cannot utilize the full bandwidth of a
128K 2-channel ISDN connection through a standard serial card and
ISDN 'terminal' device. We recommend an ISDN Router or internal card
for 128K service.
Dedicated analog and other leased connections provide a permanent
point-to-pint link between your location and the Internet. While these
services have a higher initial cost, the monthly rate is generally lower
and a reliable connection 24-hours a day is assured.
